birdwood is pleased to advise that the Baranduda Electrical Energy Reserve Project (the Baranduda Battery) has been granted a planning permit from the Victorian Government’s Department of Transport and Planning for the development of a 400 MW/2 GWh capacity Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in an industrial precinct directly adjacent to the Wodonga Terminal Station in Baranduda, Victoria.

This will be the 4th largest generator in Tasmania to provide energy to Launceston and surrounding users.

We see the North Midlands Solar Farm as a significant renewable energy project in transforming Tasmanian energy supply and we are pleased to be partnering with the experienced TasRex team to develop this project and provide a unique opportunity to our investors.
