Engineering led investment
Our experience has taught us that many renewable assets- both generation and storage- require deep engineering led experience. At birdwood we aren’t just another investment fund - we are an engineering led investment team with 60%+ engineering team. We take a lifecycle view of the asset: designs are capital efficient, operations are managed in house to reduce costs and a full revenue stack is achieved led by our engineering expertise. During construction and throughout operation to ensure that across the 30 year life of the asset, we provide investors with enhanced returns.
Our in house engineering team monitors our sites centrally, using technology that can both alert us to an immediate maintenance issue, but learns over time the indicators that drive the fault and alerts us to the circumstances prior to failure. We are able to the provide immediate responses with our in-house team to ensure that production loss is minimised and we keep assets online to provide investors with enhanced returns .
Operational excellence is about making sure we have the systems in place and the tools and information available so our team, algorithms, in house technical team and service delivery partners can react quickly to the problems that matter, enables us to remove costly unscheduled maintenance as well as achieve the full stack of revenue opportunities available.
