birdwood is a specialist investor in the renewable sector. Our engineering-led investment team works will developers and companies in the sector to accerlerate their assets to construction and ownership by birdwood’s investment vehicles.

We complement developers and companies with our own birdwood team’s planning, grid, procurement, design and construction experience to rollup porftfolios of assets across the sector. This provides our investment vehicles with opportunities to assets at a scale across the entire sector which pension and superannuations funds are not able to access directly themselves.

This also, by deploying more capital faster, into the sector accelerates the energy infrastructure, in the countries we work in, to Net Zero as fast as possible.

birdwood is pleased to advise that the Baranduda Electrical Energy Reserve Project (the Baranduda Battery) has been granted a planning permit from the Victorian Government’s Department of Transport and Planning for the development of a 400 MW/2 GWh capacity Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in an industrial precinct directly adjacent to the Wodonga Terminal Station in Baranduda, Victoria.

This will be the 4th largest generator in Tasmania to provide energy to Launceston and surrounding users.

We see the North Midlands Solar Farm as a significant renewable energy project in transforming Tasmanian energy supply and we are pleased to be partnering with the experienced TasRex team to develop this project and provide a unique opportunity to our investors.

Birdwood Infrastructure Partners is appointed Investment Manager for the Solar Asset Fund. Birdwood has acquired the investment management rights for SAF ($120m fund) from Sentient Impact Group. Solar Asset Fund was launched in 2018, and owns three mid-sized solar farms.
